To Utopia and Back
On the southern edge of the world, amid the ice and silence of Antarctica, lives a young penguin. His everyday life is interrupted by the arrival of an expedition ship with a human crew—among whom is an older whale. He is also the messenger of an important event: the First International Gathering of Animals is about to begin, bringing together representatives of animal species from all corners of the planet. At the whale’s invitation, the young penguin joins the crew to take part in the gathering, whose theme is a serious one: the rapidly changing environment, melting ice, ocean pollution, and the loss of natural habitats—all caused by human behavior and negligence. Through clear text and thoughtful illustrations, "To Utopia and Back" encourages children to understand ecological topics, recognize the causes and consequences of changes in nature, and develop awareness of the responsibility that we all, without exception, share.
