Due to the specific nature of the idea of exchange on which the concept of the Croatian Pavilion at the 60th International Exhibition of Visual Arts – La Biennale di Venezia is based, titled By the Means at Hand by artist Vlatka Horvat and curator Antonija Majača, the design of the visual identity, exhibition layout, and publication are conceived as parts of a sequence made up of different stations. Each station is shaped to fulfill a particular action and form, representing a specific phase of the project. Although these elements exist individually as separate islands, together they form a whole, while their transparency and simplicity ensure they do not impose themselves on the artworks or the space.
