Time, flow, light, change, and repetition are the core principles embedded in the visual identity and exhibition design of Zgraf 12—Social Reruns. The paradox of continuous change through repetition is expressed through subtle pulsations and gradual transformations of light within fixed formal frameworks. The logo design is derived from basic geometric shapes—referencing the legacy of modernism and earlier Zgraf editions.

The sense of time’s passage in the exhibition display is created through alternating, cyclical illumination and obscuration of the works, reinforced by the rhythmic arrangement of exhibits in rows and by the overall orientation of the exhibition. The vertical (altitude) gradation of elements visually separates individual exhibition segments into thematic and “revue” sections.

Zgraf is a long-standing international triennial exhibition of graphic design and visual communications, held in Zagreb since 1975.
